Our Story – Real Alexandrian Kebda in Abu Dhabi

our story

From Alexandria’s Streets to Abu Dhabi’s Heart

Kebda April Alexandian started with a simple dream: bring the real taste of Alexandria’s street food to Abu Dhabi. The story began on the busy streets of Alexandria, right by the corniche, where the smell of sizzling kebda fills the air. Every day after school, there was a tiny kebda cart near the old library, and that’s where the secrets of making perfect kebda were learned – how to soak the liver, when to add the garlic, and why crispy onions matter so much.

After moving to Abu Dhabi in 2018, those flavors were missed more than anything. Every Egyptian spot in Al Nahyan and Tourist Club Area was tried, but nothing tasted like home. So, the cooking started the way it was taught back in Alexandria, using the same spices and street food tricks.

Our Story

Why We’re Different – Authenticity in Every Bite

Kebda April Alexandian opened its doors at the year 2023. The recipes haven’t changed since then. The liver is still soaked, real Egyptian spices are used, and onions are fried fresh every day.

People from all over Abu Dhabi – Al Khalidiya, Khalifa City, Mussafah – come here because the kebda tastes just like it does back in Egypt. The recipes aren’t changed to fit trends. Everything is kept real, so every bite brings back memories of home.

Our Cooks Actually Know What They're Doing

Our kitchen guys aren’t just random cooks – they grew up eating this food in Egypt. Diaa and Ahmed, our main chef, is from Cairo but spent years learning Alexandria-style cooking when he worked on the coast. Ibrahim who makes our koshari learned from his family who had a koshari shop in downtown Cairo for like 40 years.

These guys cook from memory, not just recipes. When they’re making your food, they’re thinking about their mom’s kitchen and the street vendors they grew up eating from. That’s why people say our food tastes different from other Middle Eastern places around Khalifa City or Al Zahiyah – because it actually is different.

Our Story

Our Team – Egyptian Food Lovers

Our Story

Growing While Staying Real

We’re always trying to serve our Abu Dhabi community better without losing what makes us special. Now you can order through Talabat, Deliveroo, and other apps if you live in Baniyas or Al Wahda or somewhere far from us. We also added more dishes to the menu but kept focusing on Alexandrian specialties.

Our goal is simple – be the place where anyone in Abu Dhabi can try real Egyptian street food. Doesn’t matter if you’re Egyptian missing home, or Emirati wanting to try something new, or expat who heard about our kebda from friends. We want to share these flavors and traditions that make Egyptian food culture so special.

Food isn’t just about eating – it’s about connecting people and making memories. Every time someone tries our kebda eskandarani for the first time and their face lights up, we know we’re doing this right. That’s what keeps us cooking every day with the same love Islam learned from his uncle back in Alexandria.
